Using the Meyers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) in Organizations

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality test and inventory. The test is intended to help people better how they and others function in life, according to C. G. Jung's theory of psychological types. Jung's theory holds that much of our behavior is predictable and follows certain patterns. Peoples' personalitites differ, in part, based on basic differences in how we prefer to use our own perception and judgement.

On this page, learn how to take the Meyers Briggs test and how its results can help you and your colleagues and team learn how to best work together.

How to take the Meyers-Briggs test

The official MBTI can only be administered by a trained professional. The Meyers & Briggs foundation recommends seeking out a trained professional in your area through the MBTI referral network. You can also take the official test online for about $50

An unofficial test similar to the MBTI is available for free online at Human Metrics
