Networking and Leadership Development
With over 200 advocacy groups around North America, there's no need to reinvent the wheel in working for better biking and walking. The Alliance fosters skillsharing, peer-to-peer learning, and leadership development within our extensive network.
Leadership Retreat
Our biennial three-day Leadership Retreats connect local biking and walking advocacy leaders from across North America to exchange best practices, foster great new advocacy ideas, and solve challenges.
At the Leadership Retreat, advocates reunite with their peers from across North America to gain professional and strategic insight into their work. But it's not all hard work - Alliance tradition calls for plenty of walks, bike rides, campfires, and a talent show. Learn more »

Hands-On Training
We give advocates the tools to win campaigns at the state and local level to transform communities into great places to bike and walk.
Winning Campaigns Trainings
The Alliance's signature Winning Campaigns Training uses curriculum targeted to the unique needs of bicycle and pedestrian advocates. In just three days, participants learn key organizing tactics in strategizing, funding, and conducting campaigns that transform the transportation landscape in their cities and states.
These trainings are conducted in cities all around the country and are intended for any potential campaign leader in a state, local, or provincial biking and walking advocacy organization who would benefit from gaining the tools to craft and manage powerful advocacy campaigns.

Navigating MAP-21 Workshops
These workshops are offered by Advocacy Advance, a partnership of the Alliance and the League of American Bicyclists. The workshops bring together public officials, advocates, elected officials, and community members to learn how to access untapped or under-utilized federal active transportation funding. With a focus on MAP-21, the current federal transportation bill, these workshops help leaders develop a roadmap for improving active transportation.
These workshops have a proven track record: Advocacy Advance has facilitated 19 funding workshops in 17 states, directly resulting in over $27.7 million in public funding for biking and walking infrastructure and programs. Learn more and see upcoming workshops on the Advocacy Advance site »
