With a degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri, Carolyn Szczepanski spent the first decade of her career as a reporter with a focus on civic, environmental and social justice issues, before joining the Alliance for Biking & Walking as Communications Coordinator in 2010. After two years with the Alliance, Carolyn became Communications Director at the League of American Bicyclists, leading the organization's rebranding, launching its Women Bike program and co-founding its Equity Initiative. Now the League's Executive Editor and Graphic Designer, she focuses primarily on publications, including American Bicyclist, the organization's quarterly magazine. Carolyn is excited to be back at the Alliance learning from state and local bike/ped leaders while managing communications, including blogs, webinars and the weekly Roundup. She now lives in Texas, where she also works with Austin B-cycle, the capital city's bike sharing system.
