Leah Shahum, Secretary

Leah_ShahumLeah Shahum is the founder and director of the Vision Zero Network, a project supporting cities working toward the critical goal of Vision Zero = zero traffic fatalities and severe injuries. The Network helps city and community leaders develop and share best practices toward safe mobility for all road users. As a German Marshall Fund Fellow, Leah has researched Vision Zero strategies and experiences in Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands.

Prior to that, Leah served as the longtime Executive Director of the 10,000-member San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, which works to promote bicycling for everyday transportation. Under her leadership, the SF Bicycle Coalition became one of the largest and strongest advocacy groups in San Francisco. Leah formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District, as well as the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
