Lara is the Director of National Standards and a Policy Associate at the Council on Foundations. She has a decade of nonprofit and foundation management expertise, in other words, she is a compliance nerd.  Lara is known for reversing nonprofit operating budget deficits, auditing international grantmaking procedures, creating gift acceptance procedures to enhance regulatory compliance, and implementing community led grant program design. After graduating with a joint JD/MPA from Indiana University, Lara worked for international, religious, and community foundations from Indiana to India. Lara's favorite activity is walking and exploring - often until blisters develop.
