SUMMERTIME SUMMERTIME
It's officially biking and walking programming season, y'all. All around North America, riders are tallying more miles with the extra daylight, families are strolling to the nearest gelato joint, and the taps are flowing at beery bikey events. Here's how some of our member organizations are marking the season.

LEGISLATION LANE
Delware's budget committee is wrestling with a $12 million funding gap. Oof.
New York Senator Jeff Klein introduced a bill in the State Assembly to to set New York City's default speed at 25 MPH. Transportation Alternatives and Families for Safe Streets see this as a crucial step to implementing Vision Zero. Believe it or not, New York City does not have the autonomy to set its own speed limit.
Klein's bill comes after advocacy efforts to mobilize New Yorkers to support the introduction of such a bill.
PROGRAMMING
The Washington Area Bicyclist Association's Women & Bicycles program held a workshop on biking and street harassment.
