WE ARE PRO WALK, PRO BIKE, AND PRO PLACE
The greater Pittsburgh area was unusually full of biking and walking advocates this week as leaders gathered at the 2014 Alliance Leadership Retreat, Pro Walk / Pro Bike / Pro Place, and Future Bike. It was fantastic to see so many wonderful, savvy, enthusiastic, innovative leaders from Alliance member, partner, and sponsor organizations.

Mark Wyatt – who also happened to be a fantastic talent show host – wrote on the Iowa Bicycle Coalition's blog, "This is where I recharge my batteries, learn big ideas, and draw inspiration from my fellow advocacy colleagues. The sessions have been outstanding. They started strong and each session has topped the next. The value of this conference is well above the costs to attend."
At Pro Walk / Pro Bike / Pro Place this week, Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx announced a nationwide initiative to reduce biking and walking injuries and fatalities.
Advocates were roundly impressed by Pittsburgh's efforts to welcome conference attendees with a new protected bike lane and pop-up infrastructure.
