Midterm elections are right around the corner! If you're unsure how your organization can and cannot participate in election season, check out our handy infographic. Here's what biking and walking advocates in the Alliance network are doing: 

Chicago's Active Transportation Alliance surveyed candidates for Illinois governor. 

Bike Cleveland encourages supporters to vote no on a traffic camera ban. 

Bike Austin and BikeTexas released their endorsements for Austin municipal races! We can't link to them, but Google might know where they are. 

Advocates at Bike Delaware are waiting for a few stragglers in their 2014 candidate survey.

The Hawaii Bicycling League will hold "Bike Talk" forums with the gubernatorial candidates. 

INFRASTRUCTURE INLET

Metra will raise fares on Chicago riders to pay for replace aging train cars. 

Buffalo advocates welcome new bike lanes and sharrows on the East Side. 

Boston will replace the Casey Overpass with the Casey Arborway, a boulevard with two-way bike paths on either side.

ADVOCACY AVENUE

San Francisco and Marin advocates are NOT happy about a proposed bike and pedestrian toll on the Golden Gate Bridge. 

Wisconsin advocates are pushing back hard against an open pit mine alongside the nation's oldest rail-trail, but the Wilton Town Board still approved the mine. 

Bike Pittsburgh rallies supporters to speak up for more active transportation funding at an upcoming budget hearing. 

BikeWalkKC launched CompleteKC, a new campaign for major biking and walking improvements in some of the city's most important neighborhoods. 

LEGISLATION LANE

Toronto has introduced legisation that would institute a 1 meter passing rule and increase fines for dooring and distracted driving. 

Washington, DC's legal system currently leaves bike crash victims without access to justice. Here's how the city council could fix it.

Also in DC, a councilmember proposed a bill to ban biking on the sidewalk. WABA thinks that's a bad idea. 

Connecticut's new vulnerable user bill continues to draw press attention. 

The US Department of Transportation has released their action plan for their new pedestrian and bicycle safety initiative. 

Richmond, VA passed a Complete Streets policy. 

Governor Jerry Brown has signed California's Protected Bikeway Act.

Through the Better Bike Share Partnership, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is working to create a socially equitable and replicable bike share model for Philadelphia and beyond.

Bike East Bay is teaming up with BART to reduce bike theft. 

Five folks won $200 for taking the League of Illinois Bicyclists' bike safety quiz challenge. 

Yale moves up the Bicycle Friendly University ladder. 

The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition partner to hold classes specifically for Google shuttle bus drivers.

USPIRG is hiring a 21st Century Transportation Campaign Director.
