Winning Campaigns: By the Numbers

Santa Barbara WCT

Last month, the Alliance closed out a year of Winning Campaigns Trainings with a warm finale in Santa Barbara.

Hosted by the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation and Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition, participants workshopped advocacy campaigns from winning funding for Safe Routes to School in Colorado to passing a Vision Zero policy in Santa Barbara to establishing an equitable transportation planning process in Los Angeles.

Looking back and looking ahead

The Alliance is excited for the campaign blueprints that emerged from our four Winning Campaigns Trainings in 2014, and we’re standing by for technical support and coaching to assure success.

In 2014, there were 120 participants from 64 organizations in 36 cities and 13 states at the Alliance’s signature training. What are your peers across North America working on? Here is a snapshot of the types of campaigns from these trainings:

In addition, the Alliance facilitated a customized training in collaboration with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition focused on campaigns to establish connected bicycle networks, based off the Coalition's successful Connecting the City framework. Thirty advocates from 19 cities attended.

What’s new for 2015?

We’re doing things a little differently this year. Instead of scheduling a year of workshops through an application process, the Alliance will facilitate customized campaign trainings on a rolling basis. If your organization is facing an urgent advocacy opportunity, want to plan out a major coordinated campaign, or would like to co-facilitate a training and offer it to your community partners, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
