When: Tuesday, March 10, 8:30-10:00 p.m. (immediately following the National Bike Summit opening dinner)
Where: RFD, 810 7th Street NW (just around the corner from the conference hotel)
Who: Everyone who’s anyone!
Come walk down the red carpet in your jerseys and tights! It may not be the Oscars, exactly, but the Advocacy Awards ceremony is the big event of the year for biking and walking advocates. (And yes, we literally have a red carpet.) Join us to revel in the fellowship of your counterparts from other cities and help us finish off a donated keg of New Belgium beer!
Most importantly, celebrate the people who have brought the movement for active transportation to soaring new heights in 2014. We’ll be announcing the winners of awards in six categories: Winning Campaign of the Year, the Susie Stephens Joyful Enthusiasm Award, Advocate of the Year, Advocacy Organization of the Year, Business Advocate of the Year, and the Bicycling Magazine People’s Choice Award.
We’re sworn to secrecy on the winners – you’ll have to wait for those envelopes to open along with everybody else.
The Advocacy Awards ceremony is also your chance to say a fond farewell to Jeff Miller, who is leaving the Alliance after seven great years at the helm.
We look forward to this event all year. We hope you’ll join us to meet up with old friends, make new ones, and enjoy the festivities as a fun way to kick off the National Bike Summit. See you there!
Attendance is free and open to the public.
