The National Bike Challenge: How You Can Help Make 35 Million Miles

challenge

This year, the National Bike Challenge will grow to inspire more Americans to ride bikes more often. The Challenge started in 2009 as an internal bike riding campaign at Kimberly-Clark Corporation and went national in 2012 under the direction of the League of American Bicyclists, with additional support from PeopleForBikes. In 2014, more than 47,000 people participated, logging more than 23 million miles.

PeopleForBikes is partnering with Kimberly-Clark to unite 75,000 people from across the country to log 35 million miles this year. In preparation for the start of the Challenge, PeopleForBikes and the Alliance for Biking & Walking are offering a free webinar to discuss local organizing for the Challenge. Whether your group has hosted a Local Challenge before or are looking to host for the first time, we want you to be prepared to engage your community and reach your group goals.

The brief webinar will cover:

  • The benefits of hosting a Local Challenge
  • Ideas to publicize your Local Challenge and get your community involved
  • The steps to apply to host a Local Challenge

The webinar will take place Wednesday, March 25 at 2:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 noon MT.
