Win an Xtracycle Cargo Bike for your Organization!

Sure, we're a people powered movement but, more often than not, we're transporting more than ourselves. Especially as biking and walking advocates we're often shuttling the tools of community change — maps and education materials, table cloths and t-shirts, registration and membership forms. And with National Bike Month just around the corner in May, we know you're gearing up for all sorts of mobile outreach and creative events.

Well, the Alliance and Xtracycle want to help lighten your load. Today we kicked off our Xtracycle Cargo Bike Contest, giving Alliance member organizations the chance to win a new Edgerunner

While other companies build cargo bikes, Xtracycle was the first company to engage the problem from all angles — making products and seeding the culture of cargo bikes in America.  In 1999, the company debuted its patented FreeRadical cargo bike conversion kit to an industry hooked on the recreational bicycle. Fifteen years later, they offer a full line of complete cargo bikes — including the Edgerunner.

The EdgeRunner is the ultimate cargo bike. Designed with a small 20” rear wheel, which lowers the center of gravity for greater stability, improves acceleration from a stop, and makes it easy to carry cargo weighing up to 250 pounds. The 100% Chromoly steel frame is the perfect material, because it’s lightweight, strong, and durable.

How can you get your hands on this $2,200 asset for your organization — right in time for National Bike Month?

Xtracycle x2First, answer these three questions...

  • Why does your organization need an Xtracycle cargo bike?
  • How would you use it?
  • What will you do to rally your supporters and win the EdgeRunner?

Enter your responses in this quick survey here by APRIL 15.

Finalists will be chosen by the Alliance and the selected organizations will mobilize their members and supporters to cast their vote during a public voting period from April 21-27.

The winner will be announced on April 30 and the bike will be in the hands of the lucky organization by mid-May.
