A National Training Tailored to YOUR Organization

NationalTraining PostcardWe know there aren't enough hours in the day for all the work you want to do. Bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organizations are often using scarce resources, relying on overtaxed staff — and still executing on their missions to make biking and walking safe and comfortable in their communities.

So the last thing we want to do is waste even a minute of your time.

That's why we're working with Fission Strategy and the Wisconsin Bike Fed to make sure the content of our upcoming National Training is tailored specifically to the needs and interests of your organization. And we're not just talking in vague generalities — we're gathering information from all participants so, when you walk out of the "Organizing, Leadership and Digital Strategy for a Stronger Movement," you have meaningful skills and actions steps to move your organization forward.

Just to give you a taste of the customized content, we're asking attendees to share their current baselines and their aspirations, including...

  • Which social media platforms are you using and what type of content do you typically share?
  • What strategies and tactics have been most effective at mobilizing potential supporters and existing supporters to take action online?
  • In an ideal world, what would your organization gain from its online engagement and social media engagement?
  • What kind of data would you like to learn more about to improve your organization's communications?
  • A part of the training will focus on best practices around engaging diverse communities and explore where organizations fit on a spectrum of inclusion to promote growth. How well do you feel your organization engages and communicates with the following communities: Communities of color, elderly, LGBTQ, low-income families, people with disabilities, women, youth? Is it a stated organizational priority or organizational policy to engage with any of the communities listed above?
  • What does success for your organizations digital strategy look like in 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years?

Using this information and more, our trainers from Fission will customize the workshop to focus on the most impactful information and activities for those of us in the room. So, in a very real sense, this is a training not for bike/ped organizations — but for YOUR bike/ped organization.

"Folks at nonprofits have all of the good intentions in the world," says Hemly Ordonez, Fission's VP of Digital Strategy and Mobilization and one of our training facilitators, "and giving them the tools to live out those intentions is one of the most special things for me in seeing the intersection of diversity and inclusion, and technology,”

So don't think of this training as time away — think of it as an opportunity to save countless hours in the future by gaining direct access to social movement building experts who will transform the way you think about and execute your organizing, leadership and digital strategies.
